There are only three photographs at
present. As more are found they will be added.
If you have old photographs of the area surrounding Ayton School
from years past please e-mail.
It would be very nice to include a shot of Ayton Railway Station
as it used to be - one of the nicest platforms anyone could tread
(almost exclusively used on the way home at the end of term!)

The collapse of Roseberry Topping in 1911 or 1912,
owing to mining subsidence.
One wonders which landscape sculptors sorted it out to its present
day shape?

This very poor photograph is of Big Fern Deep - a beauty spot
familiar to all who took part in the "Long Walks"
so much a part of Ayton School life for many years.

Roseberry Topping as seen from Cook's Monument.
This has to be one of the favourite views for many generations of
Ayton School pupils and staff
Not really an Archive shot but - in our memories - this view never
was in sepia or monochrome
