Those who have experience of accessing website will have no need of this page. It is possible, though, there may be old scholars, and other visitors, who are looking around - not as a part of a general interest in the Internet, but have just come to look at the Ayton Old Scholars' website. They may find initial navigation around the site a little confusing and, hopefully, this page will be of assistance.
If you are looking at this page on a PC computer, either laptop or on a standard 15" monitor, and using Internet Explorer for your browser, you will be able to see a larger image by pressing the F11 key at the top of your keyboard. When you wish to revert to the original press F11 again.
The main part of navigation is via the buttons in the frame on the left hand side of the screen. These buttons, termed links, will take you to the main sections of the site and from there, via other links, sometimes a further button, sometimes an underlined and coloured title, to additional sections.
The "Homepage" is always the most important link. It is the title page and front door to any website. You will find other links to "Homepage" on every single page so that coming out of any section, and back to the start, is as simple as "clicking" on a Homepage link.
Getting around the site is pretty straight forward with the exception of the Magazine section. Clicking on the "Magazine" button takes you to a choice page containing an impression of the 1999 and 2000 Magazine covers. Chose which ever you wish (by positioning the mouse pointer over the picture) and click. You are then into the Magazine Contents page. Click on any of the buttons to take you to the section of your choice.
If you find you have visited a page by mistake press the "Back" arrow key (next to the + / =), or the "Back" arrow / symbol at the top left of your browser screen.
When you come to the "News of Old Scholars" there is a "link" choice of which ever decade interests you first, and continuous links on every page to other decades, plus a choice of returning to the Magazine contents, or magazine choice, and back to "Homepage."
There is much to see and read. We hope you enjoy the site. Your comments and criticisms would be appreciated so please feel free to either leave a message on the Forum page - for all to read, or e-mail. The addresses (which you only have to click on to set the process in motion) can be found on the Homepage.
